HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL (1999)
WILLIAM MALONE
Plot
A remake of William Castles 1959 'B' movie classic, with a budget that would have had the original directors jaw on the floor. Geoffrey Rush plays a sinisterly warped theme-park billionaire, who has planned a birthday party for the wife he loves to hate. An assortment of strangers are also invited to the gathering, which is to be held in an old mansion; should they survive to the end of the weekend they will be richly rewarded, but nobody can guess at the supernatural evil that is about to be unleashed. House on Haunted Hill is complete hokum, great special effects but a shortage of genuine fear. More fun than frightening.
