New York, the sweltering summer of 1977, there's a serial killer on the loose who prowls the streets for young brunettes, every victim he takes he then taunts police with, his moniker, 'Son of Sam'. Spike Lee's film is a taught, claustrophobic drama, which convincingly conveys the overbearing heat, frustration, ignorance, fear and paranoia of the city.
