JAKOB THE LIAR (1999)
PETER KASSOVITZ
Plot
Williams plays a Jewish concentration camp inmate who accidentally overhears some vital information about the war and passes it on by saying he heard it on his secret radio. He spends the movie passing on invented stories to keep the inmates happy but when the Germans hear about it they begin a search for the mythical hero who operates it. The central idea is similar to 'Life Is Beautiful', that when the world becomes too awful you simply invent your own.
