A promising start to this romantic drama, sadly let down by its predictable yet unlikely outcome. An airliner, carrying the wife of Harrison Ford and the husband of Kristin Scott Thomas, crashes en route to Miami, killing them both. With the initial, well-handled scenes of shock and grief out of the way, it transpires that the two were having an affair. 45 minutes later Ford and Scott Thomas finally come face to face and fall in love, which is where the film falls flat. The trouble is that "random hearts" is all too apt here, as it seems not even remotely plausible that these two would be attracted to each other, rendering the whole thing a bit pointless.
