VAMPIRES (2002)
JOHN CARPENTERBRIAN TYLER
Plot
The hugely watchable James Woods, whose character disdains the 'Eurotrash fag' approach to vampire mythology, stars as the streetwise head of a vampire hunting team, who vanquish their foe by firing crossbow bolts at them and dragging them into the light. Carpenter opts for a tough, macho beat-'em-up style, the bloodthirsty creatures get staked, decapitated and torched, the last accomplished by dragging them into the New Mexico sunlight to spontaneously and spectacularly combust. An action-packed gore-fest that will leave fans of the genre particularly pleased to see a semi-return to form for the director that gave us 'Halloween' and 'The Thing'.
