Adaptation of Jacqueline Mitchard's novel, with Michelle Pfeiffer as career mom Beth who, on her way to a high school reunion, turns her back for just a second, only for her three year old son Ben to disappear without a trace. Nine years on, still grief-stricken and wracked with guilt, Beth is stunned when a kid from down the street knocks on her door offering to mow the lawn. Certain that he's her long-lost child, Beth and her hubby are thrown into fresh turmoil, for, even if this actually is Ben, is he really theirs any more, and could he ever be? A sensitively handled drama with a characteristically fine performance from Pfeiffer.
