Plot

A rather less controversial tale of teenage torment from "Kids" director Larry Clark. Recovering after a near-fatal beating from a security guard, juvenile delinquent Bobbie (Vincent Kartheiser) jumps from the frying pan into the fire when he's "adopted" by serial criminal Mel (James Woods). Mel happens to be spectacularly unbalanced man who, along with his drug-riddled girlfriend Sid (an excellent Melanie Griffith), inhabits a dangerously seedy world. There's more than a touch of the Tarantinos here, but the satisfyingly nasty characters and mischieviously foul-mouthed script makes up for it.
