THE LAST TIME I COMMITTED SUICIDE (1997)
STEPHEN KAY
Plot
A slice of bebop nostalgia, loosely based on the early life of Neal Cassady, who was to become a souce of major inspiration to "beat generation" guru Jack Kerouac. The commitment-shy Neal (Thomas Jane), unable to face the prospect of life behind a picket fence with his suicidal girlfriend, decides to bale out and spend his days shooting pool and chasing women with footloose buddy Harry (Keanu Reeves). Engaging enough but reminiscent of a Levi jeans advert at times.
