A kind of Jamaican "Shirley Valentine", this is the tale of a stressed-out middle-aged career woman, Stella (the very hot Angela Bassett), and her quest to escape the rat race and have some fun for a change. Enlisting best buddy Delilah (the "irrepressible" Whoopi Goldberg), the pair leave the office behind for some girlie fun in the Caribbean, but no sooner have they hit the sun-loungers than Stella attracts the attention of local Lothario Winston, who, at 20, is half her age. Based on writer Terry McMillan's poignant account of her own love affair, this screen adaptation is a much more light-hearted affair.
