Plot
All-American kids, terminal illness, Julia Roberts and the director of Home Alone - what more could you want in a Tinseltown tear-jerker? (A decent script would have helped, but that's probably just my horrid British cynicism.) Ed Harris cures his male menopause by dumping weary-looking wife Susan Sarandon and taking up with fit young filly Julia Roberts, and, naturally, a mutual loathing develops between the two women. But when Sarandon is diagnosed with cancer, the adults are forced to put aside their feelings for the sake of the kids' future. Much blubbering, bonding etc ensues. Very syrupy.
