Christina Ricci puts in a fantastic performance as the streetwise sixteen year old Dedee Truitt in this wicked comedy. Dedee is rude, arrogant and determined to seduce her gay half-brother's boyfriend. Her manipulative behaviour causes chaos in the suburban neighbourhood of Indiana and leaves her acquaintances aghast. This is a wonderfully nasty film about how far one teenager will go to get what she wants. The sharp comic script and clever direction gives Christina Ricci a chance to put in her best performance to date. A cynical look at love, sex and life in the nineties.
