Man of the moment Matt Damon ("Good Will Hunting") joins forces with modern-noir merchant John Dahl ("The Last Seduction", "Red Rock West" - both excellent) in this smoky card-shark caper. Mike (Damon) is a smart, sly law student with a golden future and a highly lucrative talent for poker, who, encouraged by conniving mate Ed Norton, is about to lose big time to shady Russian John Malkovich. Predictable but pretty entertaining nonetheless.
