Nic Cage is on top form as disreputable detective Ricky Santoro in this stylish techno-action flick, with a stunning, 14 minute, one-shot opening sequence setting the scene for the ensuing thrills and spills. Santoro has a ringside seat at a huge Atlantic City boxing match, where the Secretary of Defence is a V.I.P guest. When the minister is violently assassinated during the first round, Santoro suddenly finds himself heading the hunt for the killer, sealing the stadium shut with 14,000 understandably alarmed spectators inside. Clues to the culprit's identity are supplied in flashback, but it's not so much the truth as the getting there that provides the fun in this high-octane crime caper.
