Ever wondered how your life would have turned out if you'd done something differently? That's the tantalising premise of this clever comedy, with a superb Gwyneth Paltrow as just-sacked London PR girl Helen, who gets to find out the answer to the "what if?" question. The first Helen misses her train, arriving home just too late to catch her obnoxious boyfriend in bed with his bit on the side, thus condemning herself to a life of misery. But, in a parallel reality, another Helen catches the train and ditches her sad git of a bloke, leaving her free to meet and fall in love with dashing Scotsman John Hannah. Excellent performances in a romantic comedy which could have gone horribly wrong, but thankfully manages to succeed with remarkable aplomb.
