IN AND OUT (1997)
FRANK OZ
Plot
That's "out" as in "outing". Somebody had the idea of using the occaision when Tom Hanks won the Oscar for Philadelphia and outed his favourite teacher as the basis for a screenplay. Poor Howard sitting at home watching the Oscars on TV must now spend the rest of his time being as macho as possible in order to convince his suburban colleagues, mates and future fiancee that he really is straight ... or is he? The result is sprightly in its early stages, has some expert comic timing and treads a fine line between gay and straight. Though this won't please the Outrage brigade try keeping a straight face.
