A fantastic adaptation of Henry James' novel of a poor little rich girl, Kate, who is to be denied her inheritance if she marries her impoverished boyfriend Merton. After befriending a rich young American lady, who is attracted to Merton, they all take a trip to Venice, and, when Kate learns that Millie is dying, she comes up with a plan.......but all does not go as planned. Brilliant!
