Plot

The archetypal Englishman heads Stateside in this full length feature film. His bosses at the Royal National Gallery, having had more than enough of the anally retentive rubber-faced one, decide instead to inflict him on our American cousins, and pack him off in the guise of their top art expert. Worryingly, the Yanks put his outrageous behaviour down to good old British eccentricity, but it soon becomes clear to his host that the supposedly renowned art historian is, in fact, completely barking mad. Love him or hate him, Atkinson's performance is inspired, and fans of the TV show will love it.
