George Burns was wheeled out of retirement to star with Matthau as a couple of old-timers reviving their vaudeville act despite a deep and mutual loathing. Based on the hit play by Neil Simon, Burns's deadpan performance is spot-on while Matthau, despite his Oscar nomination, is way OTT.
