Plot

In "The Assignment" Chief O'Brien's wife returns from a trip to Bajor and it's soon pretty obvious she's not the same woman she was when she left. The USS Defiant is thrown back in time, in "Trials and tribble-ations", by a passenger with murderous plot to do away with Captain Kirk.
