Four short stories by Somerset Maugham. A mollycoddled boy runs away to Monte Carlo in "The Facts Of Life", while a suicide riddle is at the centre of "The Alien Corn". In "The Kite" a man's obsession leads to a marriage break-up, while "The Colonel's Lady" shocks her hubby with her saucy poetry.
