Plot
Classy noir gangster flick, with Alain Delon as the mean and silent Costello, a hit-man without conscience or scruples, who meets Valerie, a sultry night club pianist. The understated direction, and minimalist dialogue (not a word in the 1st 10 mins!) make for a tense, moody thriller. An austere masterpiece.
