Oliver Stone's authentic homage to 60s rock group The Doors doubles as a biography of the group's late singer, Jim Morrison, worshipped and adored by fans yet seemingly hell-bent on self-destruction. The movie follows Morrison from his days as a film student in Los Angeles to his death in Paris in 1971, at the age of 27 and features a tour-de-force performance by the rock god dead ringer Val Kilmer. Loads of great music.
