Plot
A young nobleman in the court of an 18th Century Italian king discovers that his fiancee has been the king's mistress. Humiliated, he becomes a hermit monk in the mountains where, after a while, pilgrims start to visit him seeking miracles. A great performance from Sands and a splendid film.
