WHITE HUNTER BLACK HEART (1991)
CLINT EASTWOOD
Plot
Larger than life director John Huston was supposed to be in Africa to shoot the Bogart classic "The African Queen", but his overwhelming passion for hunting drove him inexorably toward what even he acknowledged as an irredeemable sin, killing an elephant. Eastwood doesn't judge, in this supremely intelligent study, but simply reveals the man's magnetism while admitting to the terrible consequences of his monstrous, selfish ambition. Aided by a fine cast and no-nonsense photography, Eastwood constructs a suspenseful, pacy movie.
