It's 1969 and the end of an era. Withnail and ‘I' are two "resting" actors enjoying a decadent lifestyle in Camden on a diet of booze and drugs. Finding themselves in need of rejuvenation, they set off on holiday to the country cottage of Withnail's mad uncle Monty in Penrith. A sharp and witty romp, and one of the greatest, and quintessentially British, films of all time.
