Set in a futuristic, drought-ridden America, Ernest Holm attempts to survive as a farmer in the deserted wasteland while desperately searching for a sustainable water supply. Following the hospitalisation of his wife Katherine, Ernest struggles to get by with his two children Mary and Jerome but events take a tragic turn for the worse when it becomes clear Mary’s ruthless boyfriend Flem wants sole possession of the family land.
