Set in a seemingly utopian future where all war and emotion have been eradicated, we follow Jonas, a young man who is chosen to be the recipient of the community's collective memories. As he learns the details of their history from ‘The Giver’, he grows frustrated with the power those in charge hold over his fellow citizens and the terrible price they have been forced to pay in exchange peace.
