Plot

Damine was a Belgian priest who offered to go and live on the Hawaiian Island of Molokai, a dumping ground for all who were suffering from Leprosy. He knew that it was unlikely he would be allowed to ever leave the island once there. The film tells the story of his battles to bring order and care out of chaos, and how his efforts shamed the Government to eventually take on their responsibilities for the men, women and children abandoned there.
