Judge Dredd is assigned to evaluate Cassandra Anderson, a rookie with powerful psychic abilities, but a heinous crime calls them to a neighbourhood where law enforcement rarely dares to tread; a 200 story vertical slum controlled by prostitute turned drug lord Ma-Ma. Soon the duo find themselves up against a relentless wave of heavily armed thugs....Let the judgement begin. Well it is an 18 certificate so that can only be good but ‘Dredd’ is still a bit of a mess; dark, yes; violent, yes but not a lot of story. Crash, bang wallop entertainment but none of the sly, satirical darkness of the graphic novels.
