For experienced open water diver Kate the memory of a brutal shark attack has left its scars, both physical and emotional. But with the bank about to take her boat she accepts a lucrative deal from an extreme thrill-seeking businessman who wants her to lead a dive with Great Whites, cage less. As the crew head out to shark ally with a storm brewing and an unruly client, Kate soon finds the dive that might have saved her livelihood is becoming a lethal struggle just to survive. ‘Dark Tide’ is a bit of an oddity; nicely shot, largely well acted and with some great underwater footage it doesn’t seem to know if it’s a drama or an adventure horror, which means ultimately it’s not really either.
