THE MUPPETS (2011)
JAMES BOBIN
Plot
Brett says: "The Muppets hugest fan, and "real-life living muppet", Walter uncovers Tex Richman's evil plot to tear down the Muppet theatre to dig for oil and has to convince his heroes to get back together in an attempt to raise the $10 million dollars that will save it. The gags, as you might expect are packed with self-awareness and the film is more than helped along by the song writing of Bret Mackenzie (The Flight of the Conchords). The unashamedly irreverent (and academy award winning) signature song 'Man or Muppet' is arguably worth sitting through the feature for alone. The Muppets doesn't pull off the parody-self-parody as effectively asThe Muppets Christmas Carol, but still if this film doesn't put a smile on your face, then you're doing it wrong."
