Inspired by actual events, The Whistleblower centres aroundKathy Bolkovac (Rachel Weisz)a Nebraskan police officer who takes a job working as a peacekeeper in post-war Bosnia.Her initial optimism,of helping to rebuild a devastated country,is dashed when she discovers that amidstthe eschewing social and politicalchaos a culture ofcorruption and opportunism has taken hold. Most concerning of all, there appears to be a network of human trafficking that everyone seems to be turning a blind eye to. Whistleblower is a taut, intelligent, sometimes graphic drama that shocks by virtue of its basis in fact. Excellent.
