THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT (2011)
LISA CHOLODENKO
Plot
Mothers Nic and Jules conceived via artificial insemination, using the same donor for their now 18 year old daughter and 15 year old son. When the siblings decide to hunt down their father, a free wheeling, charming, irresponsible restaurateur named Paul it creates an ever expanding rift within the loving, if slightly unstable family unit. The Kids Are All Right is weak as a story, being as it is both small c conservative and slightly unconvincing. What makes the film so likable is the perfect cast, everyone, with out exception, managing to squeeze every drop of humanity, wit, pathos and likeability from their characters.
