Computer hacker and all-round ‘can do’ lady Salander disappears after being framed for the murder of two researchers during an expose of the Swedish sex trade. Convinced that Salander is the victim of a set-up her friend Blomkvist sets out to investigate and clear her name, but he soon uncovers a grim conspiracy and some ugly truths that lead him unnervingly close to home. The second instalment of the trilogy of films based on the bestselling Millennium novels by Stieg Larsson is not as gripping as the first, but the tone is even darker.
