Brad McCullum, having found God and insanity, murders his domineering mother with a samurai sword. What follows is a combination of hostage drama and, via flashbacks, a view of his descent into madness. Publicised as produced by David Lynch and directed by Werner Herzog, this brooding, absurdist psychodrama is of a man who has lost connection with reality. Very curious.
