Greenberg has frittered away his youth, a failed musician who drifted from LA to NY, but is now back with nothing bar a training as a carpenter and a spell in a mental institution. In LA this 40-year-old house-sits for his brother, tries to re-connect with old friends, who'd rather forget him, and begins a tentative affair with his brother's PA the vulnerable, but wholly likeable Florence. Baumbach returns to form in this sophisticated tale of disillusion and emotional vulnerability.
