Ponyo, part-goldfish part-human, meets and forms a bond with a 5-year-old human boy, Sosuke, and the film charts their adventures as Ponyo attempts to become human in this stunning variation on the mermaid myth. This is an awesome animation from the people who brought you 'Spirited Away', 'Princess Mononoke', 'Howl's Moving Castle', 'Laputa Castle in the Sky', 'Kiki's Delivery Service', 'Grave of the Fireflies', 'My Neighbour Totoro', 'Only Yesterday' and others. Perhaps a little thinner than the best Ghibli classics, it still makes a fun retelling of 'The Little Mermaid' story.
