Plot
Thought you didn't like sports movies? Think again... this indie drama follows Miguel "Sugar" from his impoverished Dominican village to small town Iowa playing baseball for a minor league team, where he hopes his skill as a pitcher will earn him enough ackers to support his extended family back home. Taken in by a family he is warmly welcomed, but finds both the language barrier and cultural adjustment difficult issues to overcome.
