When his school's theatre department is threatened by funding cuts, the alcoholic failed actor-turned-high-school-drama-teacher, Dana, writes a play that he hopes will solve everything: a sequel to Shakespeare's Hamlet done in the style of an Andrew Lloyd Webber extravaganza. While the show stopping finale raises a few good laughs 'Hamlet 2' takes a long, largely fun free, time to get there. A surprisingly unsophisticated vehicle for Steve Coogan.
