Plot
Rebecca Bloomwood is in trouble: unable to pass a shop without making a purchase she's worked herself into a whole world of debt. Even Rebecca's new job as a journalist isn't helping to make a dent on her credit cards, but when she uses, as an analogy, her addiction to shopping, for the financial column she writes for, our ditzy, self-absorbed heroine inadvertently creates a phenomenon. Based on Sophie Kinsella's book of the same title, 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' is a light, fluffy comedy in the same vein as Legally Blonde with its "I'm dim but I'm Bright" "I'm shallow but I'm sweet" "How can you not love me?" approach. Yes, I loathed it, but I'm hardly this film's demographic and consequently, begrudgingly, accept it's a pretty good example of its type.
