Plot
American Maxwell Smart works for a government spy agency in an administrative capacity. When the agency's head office is attacked, the Chief reluctantly decides to assign Maxwell as a spy and partners him, much to her chagrin, with Agent 99. The duo, constantly handicapped by Maxwell's ineptitude, must take on an evil genius whose goal is to disrupt the very fabric of their great nation. A big screen outing of the 1970s TV show, this is a very silly but super slick action comedy helped considerably by Steve Carrell's bumbling charm.
