Edward Burtynsky, a photographer of industrial landscapes, building sites, wreckers' yards etc, is the nominal subject of this documentary as he travels, mainly in China, to beautify what most of us consider the unbeautifiable. However director Jennifer Baichwal also reveals herself to be a dab hand, filming the same sites with stunning use of light, colour and composition.
