Eddie is a forty-year-old bachelor who falls foul of mid-life crisis when he meets the beautiful and vivacious Lila. Weeks later, when the two are hitched and on honeymoon in Mexico, Eddie gets a double whammy.. his new wife's a bit of a nutter and he meets the genuine woman of his dreams. This being a Farrelly Brothers film you probably know what to expect; a gross out comedy farce with a ‘hero' you just want to slap senseless. "Heartbreak Kid" has moments that are truly inspired, but like most of their comedies, it's a bit hit and miss.
