The well sound Autobots and the well mean Decepticons bring their brutal robotic war to earth, a planet in no position to defend itself from their awesome power, but it is here in this fragile place that one young lad holds the key for everyone's salvation, the question is can the Autobots keep him and his secret safe from the Decepticons. 'Transformers' is an absolutely blemishless CGI recreation of the children's animated TV series, but it is also a moralistically simplistic and cutesy affair (thanks Steven) and the jaw dropping battles are so savagely edited it's hard to work out who's who and what's what. Great fun, but a little annoying if puberty is a distant memory.
