BIG NOTHING (2006)
JEAN-BAPTISTE ANDREA
Plot
Two losers plan to blackmail a porn-addicted priest. Enter a girlfriend, a young woman who, if the dictionary did visual definitions, would have her mug next to the word cunning'. Together the three embark on a badly thought through plan to extort $100,000 from the sleazy pillar of the community, but you just know things aren't going to run smoothly. Big Nothing is a black comedy-thriller that relies rather heavily on Simon Pegg playing a sociopathic version of his normal screen persona and Schwimmer playing even more of a loser than his character in Friends'. Lots of plot twists and some funny moments, but it just isn't quite clever enough or dark enough to sustain its ambition.
