Andy's finally made it into the sitcom big-time with a half hour show that makes HiDeHi look sophisticated, but while his character increasingly descends into the mould of Gervais' previous alter ego, where Extras really shines is in the people who populate his myopic world, in particular the star names he's managed to drag in and the comic genius of Steve Merchant as a masterfully inept agent. Painfully, squirmishly, excruciatingly funny, Extras just gets better as it goes on.
