Two New York couples face a crisis of doubt, disillusionment, frustration and fear of what the future may fail to hold. The fact that successful careerist Rebecca's emotionally retarded young brother Tobey is best mates with her house hubbie Tom and Rebecca with Toby's Elaine keeps things socially incestuous. 'Trust The Man' starts out, for an hour, as a well scripted observant drama but then slides into all the old romcom cliches with a 'pass that bucket over here' protracted finale in which the four characters vie to make the most public declaration of love. One for the romantics.
