Alex is recently released from prison and on his way to nowhere in particular when he reluctantly picks up a feisty young hitchhiker. After an unforeseen and tragic event Alex is drawn to the small Ontario town of Wawa, and it is in this unlikely backwater that he finally begins to make peace with himself, thanks in large part to the unorthodox but life affirming world view of autistic resident, Linda. Snow Cake is a deeply moving, intelligent and frequently witty observation of unexpected redemption.
