When teenager Alex Rider's guardian dies in mysterious circumstances it becomes clear that his uncle was not a bank manager, as the young lad was led to believe, but an MI6 spy. Recruited by the same organisation to discover the diabolical plans of a slightly camp megalomaniac, Alex is soon up to his armpits in car chases, explosions and some rather natty Bondesque gadgets. If you are a grown adult do not be tempted to watch Stormbreaker; the acting veers between horribly hammy and stiff as a board while the script?……well, I reckon a parrot could ad lib something more convincing. That said, for any lad between 7 and 14…go for it!
