Plot

Emile is a man in exile approaching his twilight years when he receives the offer of an honorary degree from Victoria University in Canada. Deciding to make the long journey home Emile's real interest lies in the opportunity to reconnect with his last surviving relatives, niece Nadia and her young daughter. It is through these two that Emile hopes to unlock his tortured past, memories of his impoverished, rural childhood and of the brothers he left behind, and find some form of peace before life deserts him. Emile is a haunting tale of guilt and redemption.
